Tax e-mail lists and tax discussion groups

Tax discussion groups are becoming increasingly popular on the Internet. At last count, there were over 40,000 Usenet discussion groups, devoted to just about every topic you can imagine. The most popular tax related Usenet groups are:
Misc.Taxes Newsgroup
FAQ
Misc.Taxes.Moderated Newsgroup

On the misc.taxes Usenet group you are likely to run into tax protesters and similar information. The misc.taxes. moderated newsgroup was created in response to a perceived desire to avoid the hyperbole of the unmoderated group and return to a more reasoned and "well-tempered" discussion of tax related issues. Unlike the misc.taxes newsgroup, where tax questions can be posted freely and without censoring, all comments posted to the moderated newsgroup are reviewed prior to posting, and are generally posted only if they are deemed to contribute to the group discussion in a meaningful and significant manner.

E-mail Lists

In addition to the popular Usenet discussion lists, several e-mailing lists have been created for the free and open exchange of tax information.

The Internal Revenue Service's Digital Dispatch Mailing List provides subscribers with
